Exploring a Bit of England

I was lucky enough to join my school on a business trip to the UK to recruit new teachers. We attended career fairs in Nottingham, Manchester, and London, and I was able to sneak away for a few minutes and wander a bit.

With my limited time, I pounded the pavement in both Nottingham and London in order to see as many sights as I could–my step count those days was crazy.

When it was time to explore London, I queued up an old Wombats album on Spotify and hopped on the tube from Shepherd’s Bush to Oxford Circus and wandered to the House of Parliament, past the London Eye where I had a snack at Pret, and finally made my way back from Waterloo. It was getting dark and raining, but it was the best two hours I spend on this trip.

The United Kingdom was the first country I visited outside the US nearly 10 years ago, and returning for work felt like coming full circle. It was nice to be back.
